I’m turning 10!!! NO party, NO presents! Please watch and share this video to help spread the word! Thank you!
Girls in the Garage is the BEST! I’ve been there so many times and it’s always so much fun! The first time I went I got to learn all about cars. I learned how to put a tire on a car, check the tire pressure, check the oil and lots more. They had music and we got to have a dance party too. They also have a wheel you can spin for prizes. Then, I got to go back and help teach people how to do things. I haven’t been back for a little bit because my sisters had soccer. I’m excited to go Wednesday and see everyone and Kevin (the owner) asked if I wanted to sell me Play Well Jewelry!
So, this Wednesday Girls in the Garage, Play Well Africa and Play Well Jewelry will be hosting a Lego Drive at Girls in the Garage! We’ll be collecting Legos, selling Lego Jewelry, there will be cars, a live band, food and drinks. Stop by for all the fun!
Last week I helped at a Lego drive. I got to set up my own table to sell the jewelry I made. My mom got some things to display my jewelry and I got to decorate the picture frames. I got to use my square for credit cards too. I had fun hanging out with Micah and Logan. We got to talk to all the kids who donated Legos and we got to help them decorate their necklaces.
Rasta Taco donated a percentage of sales to Play Well Africa. There were so many people who donated Legos, bought food and bought Play Well Jewelry. I thought it was awesome to see people give Legos. Those Legos are going to make a big difference to kids in Africa. They will be so happy. 😉 I had so much fun and I can’t wait for the next Lego Drive.
This week I went to Home Depot and got my Dremel and Dremel Work Station. I want to say THANK YOU to Home Depot for donating them to me!
I wanted my own Dremel so I could make Play Well Jewelry all on my own without any help. Now, I can! Home Depot gave me everything I needed even safety glasses. I started using it today and I love it! I can’t wait to make more Jewelry and go to Africa.
THANK YOU HOME DEPOT!
My name is Alicia Serratos. I am 9 years old and I love to sing, theater, wrestling, Girl Scouts and helping other people. My friend Micah started collecting Legos for kids in Africa that didn’t have any toys and had never seen Legos before. When I found out, I knew I wanted to help. I went home and told my brother and sisters and we all filled up bags of Legos to give to Micah. Then, I thought we could get our Girl Scout Troop to help too, so I asked my mom. I knew she’d say yes and she did. Our troop collected a lot of Legos to give to Micah. Then, in December, Micah got to go to Uganda, Africa and actually give the Legos to lots of kids there.
When Micah came back and told our Troop all about his trip it was so amazing. I loved seeing the pictures and hearing how happy all the kids were. It really made me want to help even more. I asked my mom if I could go too, but she didn’t really know if it would be OK. She talked with Micah’s parents and they decided we could go too!
I am so excited to go help the families in Uganda, I just can’t wait. My mom set up a Crowdrise page for donations, but she said I have to earn the money too. So, we came up with the idea of making and selling Lego Jewelry. My mom has been drilling the holes and I thread the chain through. I send a thank you and write the addresses on all the envelopes and mail them. Now, we’re getting a tool so that I can do everything myself. I’m learning how to use Etsy and I even have a square to take credit cards.
I need to raise $3,000 to be able to go on my trip. I’ve been selling lots of necklaces, but still have a lot to raise. If you would like to help, you can make a donation on my Crowdrise page or buy a necklace on my Etsy page.
Thank you for visiting my website. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
