It’s that time of year again…BRICKTOBER!
Let’s all work together to collect new and used Lego and get it to kids in need!
For the entire month of October, we are encouraging all of you to set up Lego Drives in your schools and businesses! We’re here to help! Please reach out to us if you are interested in participating and we can walk you through it step by step!
As most of you may know, all four of the Serratos kids attend or attended Viejo Elementary School. We have seen it evolve into the amazing school that it is today with specialized programs for the students, new playground equipment and their one of a kind garden. The most recent addition is the STEM Lab and we couldn’t be happier to see this addition implemented! So, when the staff reached out and requested some Lego for some hands on lessons, we jumped at the chance to help!
While Lego is a favorite amongst kids to play with, it’s also a learning tool. LEGO provides the engaging, hands-on experiences students need to explore core STEM concepts and link them to real-life phenomenon. Solutions grow with students as they problem-solve and discover how science, technology, engineering, and math affect their everyday life.
With some of the donations from McDowell Elementary school and some from the Azurin Family (Thank you Amanda, King, & Rolynn) we were able to donate almost 15 lbs of Lego to The Viejo STEM Lab!
We are so excited to be helping out some local causes! If you have some Lego you’d like to donate please don’t hesitate to reach out! We are also accepting donations!
Back in June, McDowell Elementary School teamed up with Play Well Jewelry to host their first annual Lego Drive! They invited us to join them at their open house for the Lego Drive Kick Off and we were able to speak with so many amazing students and families about what we do! Over the course of a couple weeks, they collected Lego and we picked everything up on their last day of school.
Today, we were able to donate almost 150 lbs of Lego from McDowell Elementary to Play Well Africa
! All of those Lego will be going to underprivileged kids in Uganda! We are also utilizing some of the Lego bricks donated by McDowell for another very special project we’ll tell you about soon.
Thank you McDowell Elementary School for doing something so amazing for others! We appreciate your support and look forward to the next Lego Drive!
